World of Diamonds


Get the names of some fabulous diamonds ever found in the history of jewelry

It is hard to believe but it is a calculated fact that in this huge world of fashion jewelry there are only 100 diamonds present which are above 30 carats. Out of which 50 are in Europe and the rest in India, Persia and Borneo.

Cullinan : Also known as "the star of Africa". It was found in Pretoria and weighed 3,106 carats. Because of too large in size it was cut into 9 large diamonds and 96 small pieces of diamonds.

Koh-I-Noor : World's one of the largest diamond. It weighed 186 carats when it was first discovered in 1304, in India. Right now it is an integral part of the British Crown Jewels and weighs 108 carats.

The Excelsior : This diamond was weighed 995.2 carats when found by a mine worker in Africa. It was cut into 10 small pieces.
